Casela is a park of an area of 14 hectares with several century-old trees on a gentle slope facing the West coast of Mauritius.
Originally created as a bird park, (90 aviaries hosting 1500 birds of
150 species,) it now hosts other animals such as Mauritian Macaques,
tigers, lemurs, ostriches, giant tortoises etc. Since its renovation,
the concept has moved away from a zoo and emphasizes on open spaces and
interaction between humans, animals and nature; namely at the petting
farm.

Newcomer of the week :
Set within lush vegetation, the Mediterranean-style village of Port
Chambly lies where the river meets the sea.
The bell tower, the paved patios evocative of Moroccan ryads, the steep,
winding paths, the small bridges straddling canals and the
ochre-coloured houses, all contribute to the indescribable charm of this
small village.
Following the contours of a century-old coconut grove, this village is a
haven, halfway between the resort villages in the north and the
capital, Port Louis.
The Yemaya Kayak Tour is a tour of Mauritius that takes place in 4 stages over 4 days.
This fourth edition is the proof that this event is a success and is written down in the sports calendar for the adventurers.
In 2010 Mauritius will celebrate its rich Maritime patrimony and the
Sea in general. In this perspective the Yemaya kayak tour will
officially be inscribed in the celebrations of the 200 years of the
naval Grand Port battle.
