It is at the new French cultural centre in Rose Hill, that we have decided to open a new address, totally French, on the path of the French writers, lovers of fine cuisine and amateur cooks.

"Le Café Baudelaire" is in an open air area, near to the amphitheatre. That address means lots of freshness and goodness in the plates, the outdoor terrace awaits you all for light lunches of elegant dishes and a quick service.

It is an ideal place to meet friends in the centre of the island, to organise business lunches and for very affordable budgets.
Tatin de PapayeThe menu consists of salads, sandwiches, Paninis, Tajines, carpaccios, tartars and a choice of desserts. One will for sure enjoy our famous melting chocolate cake, to be eaten without moderation at lunch time or tea time with a tea or a perfect cappuccino.

Enjoy open air lunches under superb Tekoma, endemic trees; we can only cater for about 50 people.

On evenings, before or after concerts, come down and enjoy our menu or simply have a drink among friends and discuss the just-seen performance.

That café is perfect to organise cocktails or private dinners upon request.

The maximum capacity for cocktails is 600 people and the rental is very fair.

Of course at the “Institut Francais” centre is, besides the restaurant experience, a must to re-discover the different facets of French culture and arts and literature; especially in its Mauritian context.

The chef and owner "Le Café Baudelaire" is Mr. Patrice Dumont, French cook with a 2* Michelin experience, rich of his travelling and committed to offer you a very enjoyable time.

The restaurant is open :
Monday to Saturday at Lunch Time, from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm
Any evening when concerts are performed, last order at 10.00 pm
Any other day, at Lunch or Dinner for a minimum of  25 people for a la carte or with a special menu.
