The Kitchen
It is in a large, well-lighted and user-friendly kitchen that Henry and his partner Catherine welcome you every morning for breakfast on a large table of massive exotic wood, or in the privacy of the small dining room.
At La maison Coignet you can also order food, prepared by Catherine and the cook of the house, with typical Mauritian fresh products. (Order minimum 24 hours before).
Catherine also proposes mauritian cooking classes, by introducing you to the garden and to all the flavors of spices, and to the best market traders of Rose Hill and surrounding areas.
The wine cellar
A wine-lover, Henry has his a wine cellar in the basement of the house , made of volcanic stone and bricks recovered from the furnaces of the sugar companies.
Today the cave is fully air conditioned, with a humidity controller for perfect storage of wine. The wines are mainly from France, South Africa, Italy, Chile, Spain, Portugal, and Australia.
Henry invites you to discover his cellar, and organizes tastings of his best wines. (On order)
