Rodrigues, the sister island of Mauritius, was once covered in dense, native forest and was teeming with animal and bird species, many of which have become extinct. Now you can go back in time at François Leguat Giant Tortoise and Cave Reserve, and experience Rodrigues as it was over 300 years ago, before it was devastated by man’s presence.
